Recently I shared my story of a spring hike at Rocky Coulee near Vantage, Washington.

One thing that caught my attention was the number of burnt trees remaining from a wildfire that burned through the area in 2018.

Since the fire, grasses have reclaimed the area that burned. Standing in stark contrast to the green (and brown) grasses are the remains of burned trees.

To my eye, the blackened trees tell the story of the fire and the rebirth of new vegetation. In time, this will fade away, only to go through the cycle of life again.

Following is a short video I made while on location. You can view it on YouTube.
