Nature provides us with many oddities. This bunch of trees at Kopachuck State Park, Washington, is no exception. From the looks of it, the tree(s) had grown over perhaps a nurse stump. When the stump eventually rotted away, it left the trees), elevated above the ground, only supported by the thick, trunk-like roots reaching to the soil below.
