I captured this landscape photograph in the Skokomish Valley in Washington state. The South Fork Skokomish River winds its way through the Olympic National Forest, and this particular stretch of road (Forest Road 2348) is a beautiful drive any time of year. The landscape has a different beauty in winter, with bare trees and occasional snow-covered ground. This photo was taken on a mid-winter afternoon drive and captures the quiet beauty of the season.
